
Transfer Orientation - Welcome Class of 2011!

Regardless of your previous college history, attending UC Davis will be a new and challenging experience. The focus of the program is to familiarize you with the UC Davis campus, your college, your major academic department and to register for your Fall Quarter classes. You will also learn about financial aid and the multitude of resources that will help you succeed at UC Davis. Along with the transfer student perspective, you will hear from and be able to speak with your academic Dean or an adviser from your Dean’s office. Depending on your major, you will also speak to a staff or faculty advisor in a one-on-one or small group setting.
Transfer Orientation Dates:
The architecturally unique Social Science/Humanities Building is home to numerous academic departments, classrooms, study rooms and a 400-seat lecture hall.

Transfer students are open to attend any session marked as an option during online registration. The following dates are scheduled for Transfer Orientation:
- Group T-1: Friday, June 19
- Group T-2: Monday, June 22
- Group T-3: Tuesday, June 23
- Group T-4: Wednesday, June 24
- Group T-5: Thursday, June 25
- Group T-6: Friday, June 26
Advising for some majors and colleges is not available on all dates. The online registration system will not allow you to register if the session you selected is full or if advising for your major or college is unavailable.
Students wishing to change majors must wait until the winter term (January 2010) to submit a "change of major" request.

June 7, 2009.
New for 2009: Transfer students wishing to participate in a
3-day Orientation program are able to register for the Freshmen Orientation program under their respective college. See the FAQ page for more information.

| 2:05-2:25 p.m. | "Transition to College 101" Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) discusses building community, using your resources, and finding yourself at UC Davis. |
| 2:25-2:55 p.m. | Student Health & Campus Safety Student Health Center representatives discuss insurance and waivers. Police Department Staff discuss campus emergency protocol. |
| 3:00-4:30 p.m. | Advising Session Plan out your Fall Quarter schedule, review the registration process, and select courses. |
| 4:30-6:30 p.m. | Online Course Registration Register one-on-one with your Orientation Leader via SISWeb. |
