Parking for First-Year and Transfer Orientation
Effective for all Transfer Orientation sessions there will be construction along Hutchison Drive and La Rue Road. This will impact those traveling on exit 27 off of CA 113, a common exit utilized by those driving from the Sacramento Airport and from the San Francisco Bay Area. Please check your driving route as you make your travel plans. If your route includes Hutchison Drive, consider leaving extra time to account for potential delays.

Parking for Orientation
First-Year and Transfer Orientation Parking
First-Year and Transfer Orientation parking is in Visitor Lot #47 near the Tercero Housing Area. Orientation fees include parking passes and passes are available at check in. Passenger drop off at Orientation does not require a permit.
Parking Permit Instructions
Orientation will provide parking permits for all days you are registered to attend. Permits will be available at check-in and will not be provided earlier. If you arrive earlier than the stated time for check-in, you will be subject to all parking enforcements. Orientation is not responsible for replacing lost parking permits. Additional permits can be purchased at the kiosk in the parking lot for a daily rate (Visa and Mastercard only, no cash).

Parking for First-Year Pre-Event Participants
All parking in valid Visitor Parking spaces is free on Sundays and after 5:00 P.M. on weekdays. Pre-Event participants arriving after 5:00 PM will not need to purchase a parking pass for the extra night they stay over.
Other Travel Options to UC Davis
Travel arrangements should not be made until an electronic confirmation of Orientation registration has been sent and received to the student’s UC Davis email account. A copy should be printed as record of registration.
The Orientation Program provides a free shuttle from the Orientation Program to the Amtrak Station in the City of Davis. This service is only available at the end of the program on Day 2 for the First-Year Orientation program. If you are interested in this service, you can sign up for a ride during Check-out, or you can visit the Orientation Hospitality Desk to sign up. The Orientation staff will transport participants in a university vehicle.
- Pre-Event Overnight Arrivals (Sundays and Wednesdays): There is no shuttle service for participants checking in for the Pre-Event Overnight option.
- Day 2 (Tuesday and Fridays): Shuttle times are posted at Check-Out
Shuttle Drop Off Points:
- Amtrak Station in Davis
- Memorial Union on UC Davis Campus
The Amtrak Station is conveniently located in downtown Davis, just minutes from campus.
Greyhound does not provide direct service to Davis. The closest station is located in Sacramento. From Sacramento, you would need to locate the appropriate connecting bus or train to Davis or use a taxi service.
Sacramento International Airport
The Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is approximately 20 miles from UC Davis. It is served by most of the leading domestic and many international airline carriers. Below are the various ground transportation options and directions to UC Davis from the airport.
The Yolobus (#42A & B) is $2.00 each way, and takes approximately one hour. Take Yolobus 42B from the Sacramento airport to UC Davis and Yolobus 42A when returning to the airport from campus. It leaves from the Sacramento Airport at both terminals and drops passengers off at the UC Davis Memorial Union (MU).

Oakland International Airport
The Oakland International Airport (OAK) is approximately 77 miles from UC Davis. It is served by most of the leading domestic airline carriers and many international airline carriers.
